Sabathia Shuts Out O's

The Birds were shut out for the first time this season, and fell to the New York Yankees 4-0 Friday night.

Yankees' starter CC Sabathia pitched a complete game, and allowed just four hits. The Birds started off the game with back-to-back singles but were unable to score. Adam Jones was called out at 2nd base after a double-steal, though replays showed he was clearly safe...Sabathia didn't allow another hit until the ninth inning, when again the O's led off with two singles before Sabathia struck out the side.

O's starter Jeremy Guthrie was good...just not as good...Guthrie lasted six innings and allowed three runs off seven hits while walking two and striking out eight. Guthrie was in trouble in the first inning, when he walked two batters and then gave up a 3-run blast to Alex Rodriguez. A-Rod took the first pitch he saw this season and deposited it over the left field fence...Guthrie settled down after that but the damage had been done.

The Birds go back at it Saturday night...Adam Eaton is scheduled to take the mound...Go O's!

O' Yeah...
