Birds Belt Four Home Runs in Big Win Over Yanks

The O's bounced back from being blanked on Friday in a big way, setting various season records in a 12 -5 drubbing of the Yankees Saturday night at Camden Yards.

The Birds started the offensive explosion early, scoring eight runs off eight hits in the second inning (both the amount of hits and runs scored in the inning set season highs). The Birds went deep four times in the game, with Aubrey Huff, Nick Markakis, Lou Montanez and Adam Jones all going yard (the four homers tied the season high). All but two starters had at least one hit in the game, and the 16 total hits tied the season high...the 12 runs scored set a season high...

So yeah...it was a good day at the plate for the O's! Not bad after being shut down on four hits the night before...

Starter Adam Eaton (2-3) had a poor outing but left after five innings with a seven-run lead and eventually got the win. Eaton was the first O's starter to get a win in 14 games...he was also the last O's starter to get a win...pretty unsettling news...Eaton allowed four runs on four hits (two were home runs) and walked five in the victory...

The Birds wrap-up the three-game series Sunday afternoon and have a chance to win two consecutive series...Koji Uehara (2-3) opposes Joba Chamberlain (1-1)...Go O's!!

O' Yeah...
