Ahead Early, O's Fall Late

The Orioles couldn't hold on to an early lead and eventually fell 7-4 to the Royals on Sunday afternoon.

O's starter Koji Uehara took a 3-1 lead into the sixth inning but was unable to record an out and left with the Birds trailing 4-3. Uehara allowed four runs off six hits in five innings while walking two and striking out three.

The O's tied the game at four in the eighth inning but the bullpen faltered; Jim Johnson (2-2) took the loss and was charged with three runs in 1/3 of an inning...it may not have been that bad, but a strange play in center field hurt the Birds. Felix Pie, who had an RBI triple in the third inning, gave up an RBI triple of his own...Pie dove for a ball that went over his glove and rolled to the wall, starting the Royals rally.

The Birds are off Monday before beginning a 3-game series in New York at the new Yankee Stadium...Go O's!
