O's Offense Stalls in Loss

The Orioles couldn't get anything going Saturday night at Camden Yards, falling to the Angels 5-1.

After Friday night's offensive outburst, I was hoping the O's had found their swing and were about to start a winning streak...but we've all seen this before. Just 24 hours after scoring a season-high 16 runs, the exact same lineup managed to score just once...it's remarkable, but predictable.

Rookie starter Brian Matusz pitched well, but a five-run third inning was too much to overcome. Matusz (1-2) lasted 5 2/3 and recorded a season-high seven strikeouts, but walked three and allowed all five runs (four earned).

Adam Jones hit a triple in the bottom of the third, followed by Nick Markakis' RBI double...Markakis has now reached base safely in 35 straight games, a career-best.

Jeremy Guthrie takes the mound Sunday afternoon...Go O's!
