O's Offense Takes Another Day Off

The Birds were shut out by the Toronto Blue Jays 2-0 on Friday night at Camden Yards.

It was the second time this week the O's were blanked; they were one-hit by Seattle on Monday.

Orioles' starter Jason Berken (1-6) pitched well but took the loss. Berken allowed two runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings while walking two and striking out one. Matt Albers and Kam Mickolio combined to one-hit the Jays through the final 3 1/3 frames, but the damage had been done.

The O's managed just five hits, all singles, through nine innings. Luke Scott (2-for-4 with two strikeouts) was the only player with two hits for the Birds. Cesar Izturis went 0-for-2 with a walk in his return to the team, and grounded out with the bases loaded in the second to end the O's only real scoring threat.

The Birds take on the Jays again on Saturday night; Rich Hill is back in the starting rotation and is scheduled to take the mound...Go O's!

O' Yeah...
