O's Late Rally Not Enough

The Orioles scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, but it wasn't enough as the Birds fell to Texas 6-5 on Saturday night.

O's starter Mark Hendrickson put the team in an early hole...Hendrickson gave up a leadoff homer to Ian Kinsler in the first inning and allowed four home runs in just 4 1/3 innings. Hendrickson (1-3) allowed all six runs off eight hits while walking one and striking out four.

Brian Bass pitched 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, allowing just two hits while walking one and striking out four...Bass has been looking good lately...Matt Albers pitched the final frame: no hits and one strikeout. Now, if only the starters and relievers could get on the same page...

Brad Bergesen makes his second MLB start Sunday afternoon...here's hoping he can snap the losing streak...Go O's!

O' Yeah...
  • Rich Hill is progressing in his rehab stint...hopefully he'll be in the starting rotation soon
  • Ty Wigginton hit his first home run as an Oriole Saturday, a solo shot in the sixth
  • Nick Markakis' double in the fourth inning was his ninth of the season, tied for the MLB lead
