The Orioles lost their 11th straight game on Monday night, falling to the Tampa Bay Rays 7-6.
O's starter Mark Hendrickson pitched a great game, and left after six innings with a 6-3 lead. Hendrickson gave up just three hits, but all three went over the fence...
The bullpen, as usual, was horrible. Matt Albers gave up a game-tying, three-run bomb in the seventh before Danys Baez allowed the Rays to take the lead in the eighth...Chris Ray (0-4) took the loss.
At least the offense got on the board tonight...the O's banged out 13 hits (compared to the Rays' 7) but it's just never enough with this pitching staff. The Birds had four doubles and Brian Roberts hit his 16th homer of the year.
Jeremy Guthrie (10-16) takes the mound on Tuesday night...the Birds now must win three of their final six games to finish the season with under 100 losses...Go O's!
