It just keeps getting worse. The O's lost again on Monday night, falling to the Angels 8-5 and dropping to a season-high (or is that low?) 22 games under .500.
Starter David Hernandez (4-5) gave up three homers and five runs in 5 1/3 innings and took the loss. Cla Meredith gave up a 3-run jack in relief, and the O's head out on the road after losing five of seven at home...it doesn't look good.
The O's managed two long balls of their own, a solo shot by Nick Markakis in the sixth and a 2-run bomb from Melvin Mora in the ninth, but once again it just wasn't enough. Markakis also knocked in a run with a double in the third and leads the team with 84 RBIs.
The Birds now head to Tampa to face the Rays...Jason Berken (2-10) gets the start...Go O's!
