The Boston Red Sox humiliated the Orioles at Fenway Park Tuesday night, slapping six homers and shutting out the Birds 10-0.
Starter David Hernandez (4-7) lasted just 2 2/3 innings and was charged with six runs on four hits (all were homers) while walking two and fanning three. Boston's first five hits of the game were homers, and nine of their ten runs came via the long ball.
Meanwhile, the O's managed just five hits in the game, and only one (a Matt Wieters' double) went for extra bases.
The loss guaranteed a losing season, the 12th straight for the O's (56-82)...
The Birds and Sox go at it again on Wednesday night...Jason Berken (4-11) takes the mound. Go O's!
